Each study identifies layer types: ambient wash, focal accents, and task light at bar and pass.
Lux targets for dining and bar zones
We set recommended illuminance bands aligned with hospitality practice: roughly 150–200 lux at table for relaxed dinner service, higher levels at bar and menu boards, and controlled contrast so open kitchens glow without blinding adjacent tables. Sketches note where dimming zones should split so staff can shift atmosphere between seatings without a full re-programme. Daylight integration is mapped for south- and west-facing rooms where Valencia sun cuts deep into dining rooms by mid-afternoon.
Material interaction and colour temperature
Terracotta tile, raw oak, and polished marble respond differently to the same fixture, and our studies call out where 2700K warmth will flatter food presentation versus where 3000K keeps timber tones honest. We flag surfaces that will glare under direct downlights and suggest grazing or indirect solutions. These notes feed directly into material finishes selection so palette and light evolve together.
Feature lighting and brand moments
Signature pendants, cove details, and illuminated shelving carry brand identity as much as any wall finish. We propose feature locations — above communal tables, framing a tile mural, marking the transition to terrace — with scale guidance suitable for your lighting designer or supplier to develop. For protected historic interiors, we note where surface-mounted solutions may be preferable to recessed cuts in original plasterwork.
Deliverables and fees
A lighting mood study includes annotated plans, a zone schedule with lux targets, and three atmosphere sketches showing day, evening, and late service. Standalone studies start at €2,200 for a single dining room; combined dining, bar, and terrace packages range €3,600–€5,400. Turnaround is nine working days once the layout and material direction are confirmed.
